Octavia Spencer formally looking for Diablo Cody pic

Octavia Spencer has became a member of the cast of Diablo Cody's untitled pic for Mandate Pictures starring Russell Logo and Julianne Hough. Variety first reported earlier this year that Spencer is at discussions and Mandate has managed to get official. Cody is making her directorial debut from the script she composed. The pic focuses on a protected youthful lady who manages to lose her belief following a plane crash and would go to Vegas, where she meets an unlikely companion. Spencer would play card dealer in a casino around the strip where Brand's character works. Mason Novick will produce with Mandate Prexy Nathan Kahane will professional produce with Cody.
